Vegetable recipes for Lenten Season

Components: 12 lg Steamed cabbage leaves, 1 cup Blue Cornmeal, 1/2 cup Chopped green onions, 1/2 cup Entire corn, 1/4 tbsp Powdered garlic, 1/4 tbsp Thyme, 1/4 tbsp Oregano, 1 cup Unseasoned tomato sauce, two cups Water, 1 cup Grated cheese Procedures: Steam the cabbage leaves. Whilst waiting for the cabbage, mix remaining ingredients except cheese inside a sauce pan and stir with a wire whisk over medium heat. Do this until mixture is very thick. Be cautious to keep mixture stirred thoroughly. Roll 1 tablespoon mixture in each cabbage leaf. Location in baking dish and prime with cheese. Bake for ten minutes at 300 F. Serve.

Bay Roasted Carrots. Ingredients: three lb Carrots; peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces, Vegetable oil, four Bay leaves, Mild honey; optional, Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper Procedures: Pre-heat the oven to 400. Toss the carrots lightly in vegetable oil for coating. Add salt and pepper to taste. Spot the carrots in a baking dish. Add the bay leaves. Bake in the heated oven until fork tender, 45 to 60 minutes. Get rid of the bay leaves before serving. For added sweetness, drizzle with a bit of mild honey while hot. Serve.

Bean Casserole. Components: 1 can French style green beans, 1 can Cream of celery soup, 1 can Chow mein vegetables, 1 can French fried onions, 1/4 tbsp Salt, 1/2 cup Chopped almonds Procedures: Drain the green beans and chow mein vegetables. Get a casserole dish and mix all components then cover, saving some French fried onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Take away cover, add onions and bake 10 minutes more. Serve.
